6th symphony concert with Mendelssohn's "Reformation Symphony"

2017 is all about Martin Luther and the 500th anniversary of the Reformation. On the occasion of this event, the state exhibition "Knights, Peasants, Lutherans" opens at Veste Coburg in May - and Roland Kluttig contributes a varied program with his Philharmonic Orchestra of the State Theater: Es _cc781905-5cde-3194- bb3b-136bad5cf58d_includes on the one hand the opening and the topic of the 2017 state exhibition - Mendelssohn's "Reformation Symphony" with its reference to Luther - and on the other hand the fact that May 8th is the day of the end of the war and the liberation from Hitler's fascism - the great Bavarian composer Karl Amadeus Hartmann created his work "Misererae" during the period of internal emigration in the late 1930s. The last work of the evening draws an arc to both events: Frank Martin's "Jedermann-Gesänge" were written in 1944 and are based on texts from the famous play of the same name by Hugo von Hofmannsthal, which poses questions about God and the world in the form of late medieval mystery plays .

The concert will be fromGermany radio culturerecorded and onMay 11, 2017 at 8:03 p.maired.
