dr Bernhard F. Loges will be the new artistic director of the Landestheater Coburg from the 2018/2019 season. At a press conference, the future head of the three-division house was presented to the public. Loges is currently music theater dramaturge at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf and Duisburg and prevailed over 80 competitors. Roland Kluttig praised his expertise in the field of opera for children and young people. This is an area in which he and his team have already started in Coburg, but overall he still expects a lot from the input of the former dramaturge. It became necessary to fill the position because Artistic Director Bodo Busse is moving to the Saarland State Theater in Saarbrücken for the 2017/2018 season. In the coming season, the Coburg theater will initially be managed by a board of directors, which will include department heads Roland Kluttig (music theatre), Matthias Straub (drama) and Mark McClain (ballet) as well as commercial director Friz Frömming.
